Special Formula No. 4 Sweet Rub

A good sweet rub is an absolute MUST HAVE in your spice rack. Our Sweet Rub is perfection on just about anything, but it will especially shine on chicken and pork. The expertly-crafted combination of brown sugar and spices is perfect for those who love it a little sweet with a lot of flavor. Our suggestion: combine Special Formula No. 4 Sweet Rub with oil to form a paste and use it as a marinade. Use a 1 to 1 ratio of liquid to dry rub. Slather it on all your favorite meats and veggies.

Special Formula No. 4 Heat Rub

As the true Authority on all things BBQ, we crafted the perfect rub for those who love a little heat and a lot of flavor. Easily rub on all your favorite meats. It's great on everything- chicken, ribs, pork, brisket, vegetables, or even a sprinkle over popcorn for a flavorful snack. Our suggestion: mix Special Formula No. 4 Heat Rub with a bit of olive oil and drizzle over salads or fresh vegetables as a dressing for a healthy snack with a kick of flavor.

It's quick, easy, tasty and has just the right amount of heat!



  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Large Green Bell Pepper, Chopped
  • 8 Ounces Tomato Sauce (1 Can)
  • 1/2 Cup Fresh Parsley, Minced
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Onion Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 4 Ounces Diced Pimientos, Drained (1 Jar)
  • 3 Garlic Cloves, Minced
  • 1/2 Cup Chicken Broth
  • 1-2 Tablespoons BBQ Authority Special Formula No. 4 Hot Sauce
  • 2 Pounds Uncooked Large Shrimp, Peeled and Deveined
  1. In a large skillet, add olive oil and sauté onion and green pepper until tender.
  2. Add garlic and cook one additional minute, continually stirring.
  3. Stir in chicken broth, tomato sauce, pimientos, parsley, onion salt, black pepper and BBQ Authority Special Formula No. 4 Hot Sauce.
  4. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, occasionally stirring.
  5. Stir in shrimp and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until shrimp turn pink.

Serving Suggestions: Add and extra 1-2 Tablespoons of hot sauce to make it extra spicy! Serve over rice, couscous or pasta.
